Performance

Every pupil at Haltwhistle Academy is given the opportunity to take to the stage at least once a year as part of our core curriculum offer.   

• At Christmas,  our Early Years children perform the Nativity and KS1 a linked Nativity story.
• At Easter,  it's the turn of Y3/4 whose performance is often linked to one of our class texts or topics for the year.
• And in the Summer, Year 5 and 6 let their hair down and creativity loose with an end of term production. 

We also take part in Wise Sings, a spectacular event, combining the voices of children from across Wise Academies in an afternoon of song and celebration.  This event runs every other year, providing an additional opportunity for children to perform at an event centre.  .  

Within school, we are also responding to the reduced opportunity to perform in recent years by introducing a programme of Inter-house performance opportunities,  such as dance competitions, poetry recitals, and art exhibitions.
