French

Bonjour à tous!

French is an exciting addition to the timetables of our Key Stage 2 pupils.

We have lessons once a week, but we practice French around the school too as we greet each other and challenge ourselves to remember our more recent vocabulary. In French we aim for all pupils to be active participants, taking part in our French games, songs and conversations as we learn and embed new vocabulary on a range of topics. Throughout, pupils learn the skills needed to acquire new languages in the future and through understanding the grammar and syntax of French, we sometimes understand the English language a little better too!

Whilst our French department is in its infancy following our transition from a First School to a Primary Academy, we have many exciting plans for the future; we may even be lucky enough to arrange a residential trip to France in the future!
