Pupil Responsibilities

Pupil Leadership Positions 25 - 26

School Parliament - The School Parliament is made up of pupils who will listen to other children’s ideas and opinions and will share these suggestions clearly with the school leadership team.  Pupils are democratically elected by their class members (SD and subject leads)

Attendance Ambassadors - They promote attendance on a weekly basis across the school. The Ambassadors support leaders with the operation of the attendance incentives and update the attendance display weekly to reflect current % data.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors - An anti-bullying ambassador is someone that looks out for bullying, supports those that may be being bullied and is a listening ear to anyone that may want to talk to someone, other than an adult, about something going on.

Sport Leaders (School Sport Organising Crew) - As part of our PE provision, leaders regularly meet to discuss any ideas regarding physical education. Sports Leaders are trained at the beginning of the year to lead activities and games with younger children and are taught the important qualities that are needed when working with young people. Sports Leaders help to organise and lead events such as Sports Day, Sport Relief and give opinions on what they would like our PE and sport provision at Haltwhistle to offer in the future.

Childhood Pledge Ambassadors - At WISE Academies we believe that childhood is special and should be celebrated. We are passionate about providing opportunities to children that give them wonderful experiences that help to broaden their horizons and develop their character. Ambassadors are trained and supported to share and record experiences with their peers and work with Senior Leaders to share pupil voice of possible opportunities in the future.

Librarians - Our librarians must love books and enjoy improving our school libraries to encourage other children to love reading too!  They have the important job of returning books to our library system, returning books to the correct shelves, and working with Miss Findlay and Mr Hutton to create interesting library displays. (HF/GH)

Playground friends - A playground friend will help other children to seek help if they need it.  They also like to help other children to play playground games. (KH and SLT)

Digital leaders - Our digital leaders are interested in Computing.  They help to maintain our computers, and meet with Mrs Allsop to improve computing in our school (BA)

Eco-committee - As a member of our Eco-committee, you are responsible for helping our school to ‘save the planet’! You will do this by encouraging others to turn off lights in unused spaces, help Mrs Ridley and Miss Brockmen with our uniform recycling scheme, and encourage recycling of waste paper, batteries and toner cartridges.  You will share any other ideas with your class teacher, who will work with you to try and make positive changes for our environment.

Classroom leaders - In your classroom, you are likely to have other leadership roles that you can contribute too.  You might be responsible for keeping table baskets organised, displaying favourite class readers, tidying a classroom space.  Every role is essential to help our school team.
