Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
Great care is taken to identify and support children who have a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others the same age, or who have a disability which prevents them from making use of educational facilities
If you think that your child may have special educational needs, or if you have concerns about any aspect of their provision and/or progress, please talk to us. In the first instance please talk to your child’s class teacher as they will be able to offer advice and guidance related to day to day provision in the classroom.
They may then feel it is necessary to arrange a meeting, which the SENCO will attend if this is necessary.
We would then deliver a plan- do-review cycle where we monitor how children progress identifying their specific barriers to learning. It may be decided that in school intervention can be used to support a child’s needs or we may refer to outside agencies. (outside agencies that we work closely with can be found within the SEN information report on the school website)
We would always gain your consent before contacting an agency about your child with regards to SEND.
